Kimono as Art: The Landscapes of Itchiku Kubota

The San Diego Museum of Art, in a unique collaboration with the Timken Museum of Art, the Canton Museum of Art, Ohio, and the Itchiku Kubota Art Museum, Japan, is presenting a major exhibition of works by internationally recognized kimono artist Itchiku Kubota (1917–2003).

Mochitsuki Workshops

Junglecity Mochitsuki

The annual mochi pounding takes place at Hiroshi’s Restaurant. Everyone is welcome. RSVP and pre-payment required. Details will be announced on www.junglecity.com in January of 2009.

2009 Japanese Government Scholarships
The Consulate-General of Japan in Seattle is now accepting applications for 2009 Japanese Government Scholarships for studying in Japan. U.S. citizens living in the states of Washington, Montana, and Northern Idaho are eligible to apply at their office. The application forms are available on their website.

Shizuoka International Translation Competition
